Get Quality Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is a healthcare profession that deals with the disorders of the musculoskeletal system (muscles and joints) and the nervous system, as well as the effects the disorders have on your general health.

Chiropractic care is mostly used to treat neuromusculoskeletal issues, which can include - but is not limited to - back pain, neck pain, arm or leg joint pain and headaches.

Doctors who provide chiropractic treatments are usually referred to as chiropractors or chiropractic physicians. They use a drug-free, hands-on approach to healthcare that includes patient examination, diagnosis, and treatment.

Chiropractors possess broad diagnostic skills and are trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises. They also provide nutritional, dietary, and lifestyle counseling.

The most common therapeutic procedure performed by chiropractors is spinal manipulation - also known as a chiropractic adjustment.

The goal of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile or restricted in their movement as a result of a tissue injury.

Tissue injuries can result from a single traumatic event, such as the improper lifting of a heavy object. Repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for a long time, can also cause tissue injuries.

Injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that may cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function. The manipulation or adjustment of your affected joint and tissues will restore mobility, alleviate pain and muscle tightness, and allow your tissues to heal.

It's rare for a chiropractic adjustment to cause discomfort. However, you might experience mild soreness or aching after your treatment which usually goes away within 12 to 48 hours.

In lower back pain cases, chiropractic care is the primary method of treatment. If you have other existing medical conditions, chiropractic care can complement or support your medical treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal aspects associated with your condition.

Chiropractic physicians may assess you through clinical examinations, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, and other diagnostic interventions in order to figure out which chiropractic treatment is best for you.

The chiropractors at Chiropractic Associates will refer you to the appropriate healthcare provider when chiropractic care isn't suitable for your condition, or if your condition requires co-management in conjunction with other healthcare professionals.

Acupuncture and decompression are also available for your convenience. You'll be pain free in no time!
